IV Vitamin Therapy FAQ's

IV vitamin therapy (a.k.a IV hydration therapy, IV therapy, IV drip, IV nutritional therapy, etc) is the quickest and most effective way for 100% absorption of nutrients (vitamins and minerals). IV drips restore hydration and essential nutrients back into your body by bypassing the gut, liver and kidney’s therefore, allowing superior absorption (over oral supplements) of nutrients directly into your bloodstream.

Today IV vitamin therapy is used more commonly by people striving for improved health because of IV therapies wide range of health benefits, which can include surge in energy, improved immune system, improved mood, reversed symptoms of hangovers and more. Although many may believe that nutrient deficiencies aren’t so common anymore, there are still many individuals who aren’t getting the essential nutrients our bodies need to perform optimally.

Vitamins and minerals are essential for a healthy body. In most people who are eating a good, nutritional diet, there is no need to supplement with vitamins. Indeed, our bodies will excrete excess vitamin and minerals if we have too much in the bloodstream.

Vitamins are involved in a variety of bodily processes from brain and heart function to muscle contraction and digestive health. When we are unwell, taking medications, or undergoing treatments, the level of vitamins and minerals absorbed by the body can be compromised. For example, someone with acid reflux may take medications that could potentially block essential nutrient absorption from the stomach.

IV therapy is used in medical settings for a variety of different illnesses and conditions. It supports our body’s natural function and boosts the immune system and energy levels making recovery easier.

IV vitamin therapy can be administered in a number of settings (medical spas, IV bars, comfort of your home) by a trained medical professional, usually a nurse. The medical professional will disinfect the site (usually the arm), insert a needle directly into the vein to place a small, thin plastic tube called a catheter directly into your vein, the needle is then removed and catheter remains inside your vein to deliver the IV infusion. The catheter is attached to tubing and saline bag solution which contains your selected vitamin infusion.

Side effects from an IV drip are generally non-existent or very mild. On occasion, you may experience some discomfort, bruising, itching, inflammation, or redness at or around the site of injection, and this could last from a few minutes to several days. However, true allergic reactions are extremely rare.

There is a quick pinch during IV placement or shots. During IV placement, the needle is withdrawn and a small flexible plastic tube called a catheter is inserted into the vein. This means that there is no needle inside while the IV therapy is being administered.
